Dr. Joey L. Schroeder

Dr. Joey L. Schroeder is a graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic, in Davenport, where he received his Doctorate of Chiropractic. He was born and raised in Sioux City, graduated from West High School then continued his undergraduate education at Morningside College. Dr. Schroeder began his career in Chiropractic at 1301 Pierce St as Schroeder Chiropractic Clinic in October of 1994. In 1997 he formed a partnership with Drs. Poss and Todd and changed the name of their clinic name to Heartland Chiropractic Associates.

Since starting his chiropractic practice in 1994 he was lucky to find his wife, Marcy L. (Jones) Schroeder, and was married in 1996. They now have two rambunctious boys, Bryce Kelly (1998) and Brady Joseph (2002). They enjoy fishing, hunting, playing, working outdoors and horseback riding together.

Dr. Dean J. Poss

Dr Dean Poss is a native to Siouxland growing up in South Sioux City, NE. He attended the University of Nebraska then attended National College of Chiropractic in Chicago, IL graduating in May of 1981 with a doctor of chiropractic degree. He returned to Sioux City where he began practice with Dr. Don Benson who would retired one year later. Although the name has changed, he has been in practice at the same 1605 Douglas Street site since 1981.

He has two high school aged daughters, Kylie and Jessica, who are very active in the extracurricular activities which take up much of his free time. He admits that it is truly fun to be a spectator. Now that they are older it is also fun to travel and to experience many other activities from their viewpoint. It both wears you out and keeps you young at the same time.

Dr. Kenneth L. Todd

Dr Todd grew up in the Siouxland area and is a graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and Palmer College of Chiropractic-Davenport, IA. He practiced with Dr Poss from 1987 to mid-1997 and has practiced with Dr Poss and Dr Schroeder as Heartland Chiropractic Associates since 1997.

He is married to Karen. They have two grown children, a little guy still at home and the best little black dog in the world, Zak the crazy Schipperke.

Dr Todd is a Type 1 diabetic and active the American Diabetes Association and Siouxland’s local America’s Walk for Diabetes. He is a member of the Sioux City Cosmopolitan Club and active in fundraising and community service projects for the treatment, awareness and finding a cure for diabetes. He and Karen are active members of the Siouxland Cyclists, a bicycle club.

Dr. Wyatt M. Hagan

Dr Wyatt Hagan is a life long Sioux City resident. He attended West High School and received his undergraduate education at South Dakota University. He attended Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA and received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in June 2000. Dr Hagan joined Heartland Chiropractic January 2001.

He married Stacy (Goettsch) Hagan in 1997 and they three energetic sons; Matthew (2001), Jacob (2004) and Tyler (2006). In his spare time Dr Hagan enjoys auto racing, painting and spending time with his family.

Dr. Rachel Benson

Dr. Rachel J. Benson was born in Sioux City, Iowa. She is the daughter of Joan and Steve Benson of Sioux City. You may recognize the name of Dr. Benson, because Rachel is the granddaughter of the late Dr. Donald A. Benson, who was a chiropractor in Sioux City for a number of years.

Dr. Rachel Benson is a graduate of East High School. Dr. Benson worked in her parent’s Blimpie stores throughout her high school and undergraduate school years. She attended Wayne State College and received her Bachelor of Science Degree. After receiving her undergraduate degree, Dr. Benson attended and graduated from NorthWestern Health Science University in Bloomington, MN with her Doctor of Chiropractic.

In addition to treating men and women of all ages, Dr. Benson trained under Dr. Anne Spicer, a pediatric chiropractor, treating children, pregnant women and infants. Recently, she returned to her hometown of Sioux City and joined Heartland Chiropractic Associates at their Singing Hills office located at 3531 Singing Hills Blvd.
